Nigeria U-23 team were trashed by their counterparts from Burkina Faso in the semi-final of the ongoing African Games.
Sydney Mohamed Sylla scored in both halves while Omar Kabore scored the other before Etor Daniel netted a consolation for Nigeria.
Burkina Faso reached the knockout stages via a drawing of lots after finishing level on points with Sudan in the group stage.
They however made most of their chances while Nigeria were wasteful in front of goal and paid the price for such wastefulness.
The Burkinables were very physical in the opening minutes which Samson Siasia forced Nigeria to make two changes as a result of injuries.
Umar Aminu was replaced by Kingsley Sokari in the 48th minute and 10 minutes later, Mustapha Abdullahi came on for the injured Ndifreke Effiong.
Burkina Faso took the lead in the 12th minute through Sylla whose strike was deflected by Nigerian defender Seth Sincere to beat the Dream Team goalkeeper.
Burkina Faso doubled their lead after 73 minutes through Omar Kabore, before substitute Etor Daniel reduced the deficit in the 75 minute after good work by Junior Ajayi.
It look like Samsan Siasia's men will get the equalizer before Burkina Faso increased their lead to 3-1 in the 78th minute courtesy ofSylla.
The Dream Team will now face host Congo Brazzaville in the third place match for Bronze.
The host host their own semi-final game against Senegal who had a 2-0 victory with a Ibrahima Keita's double.
