Following Kaduna
The protest led by the President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Ayuba Wabba disrupted business activities in Kaduna on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.
While addressing the teachers, the NLC president, Ayuba Wabba alleged that the government came up with the competency test ìn order to sack teachers.
Wabba added that the government does not have the right to conduct competency test for teachers adding that the only professional body recognised to test the teachers is the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the government had announced the Kaduna State Universal Education Board has released the names of 11,000 new teachers considered qualified to teach in the state.
The protest which ended at the state House of Assembly reportedly left some property destroyed within the complex.
