Some of the men who stunned on the red carpet included, Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, Bobby Cannavale, Aaron Tveit and many more, with 2012 Best Actor Tony winner and Late Late Night Show host, James Corden hosting the awards.

Other notable personalities at the event included nominees,Lupita Nyong'O and Sophie Okonedo, media mogul, Oprah Winfrey, Orange is the New Black actress Uzo Abuda, amongst others.

The ceremony, which started by paying tribute to victims of the Orlando shooting, saw  Grammy and Pulitzer-award winning play, Hamilton Lead the pack with 11 wins, which had previously set the record for highest number of nominations with 16 nods. British-Nigerian actress, Cynthia Erivo, also nabbed the Best Actress in a Leading Role award for "The Colour Purple".
