Ndidi, Iheanacho, 16 others in camp ahead of Seychelles clash

Nigeria will play Seychelles in the Matchday two of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Saturday, September 7.

Players in camp at the time of this writing include Ndidi, Iheanacho, Henry Onyekuru, Kenneth Omeruo, Francis Uzoho, Semi Ajayi, Samuel Kalu, Chodozie Awaziem, Kelechi Nwakali, Bryan Idowu,Simeon Nwankwo, Joel Obi, Leon Balogun, Ahmed Musa, Ogenyi Onazi, Oghenekaro Etebo, Odion Ighalo and Jamilu Collins.

"On National duty with nice views," Ndidi wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of him at the Super Eagles base. "Good morning from Super Eagles camp in Seychelles," Iheanacho also wrote on Instagram.

The players flew straight from their bases in Europe to Seychelles ahead of the game.

Midfielder John Ogu, however, made a brief stop at home in Nigeria from where he will make the trip to Seychelles.

Missing players

Ahead of the clash the Super Eagles have been hit with a slew of injuries including William Troost Ekong and Ola Aina who have pulled out of the squadfor the AFCON qualifiers.

Arsenal star Alex Iwobi who missed the Gunners’ 3-2 away win at Cardiff because of an illness is also out of the game.

Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi opted out of the game after just recovering from a wrist injury.

Another player who is not available for Gernot Rohr is Victor Moses who retired from international duties after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Nigeria are without a point in Group E of the qualifiers after losing the opening game 0-2 at home to South Af in June 2017.
