35 entrepreneurs under the age of 35 to watch in French-speaking countries

From over 200 entries coming in from over 26 countries, the 35 entrepreneurs that have emerged this year have all contributed in big ways to their communities.

On a yearly basis, the Francophonie 35 under 35 Youth Prize recognizes 35 innovators aged 18 to 35 in French-speaking countries who have made outstanding strides in their various fields.

According to organizers of the prize, the aim is to lead initiative in the French-speaking world by highlighting some of the best innovations in a zone populated by 900 million people spread across five continents.

The 35 people who will emerge as winners are selected by a jury of 80 personalities from the francophone space. From over 200 entries coming in from over 26 countries, the 35 entrepreneurs that have emerged this year have all contributed in big ways to their communities.

They will be rewarded at an awards ceremony that will hold on October 29, 2016 in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire.  Here they are below:

  • Nowak Jan and Iris Munos, Drameducation, Poland: Teaching French as a foreign language through theater.

  • Hamidou Abdoulaye Nafissa (30), Salma, Niger: Providing high-quality animal fed in Niger.
  • Hien Kouamé Christelle (33), Oniveau, Côte d’Ivoire: Giving students access to exercises and homework of schools that have the best national success rate in examinations.
  • Lalaye Didier (32), Bilharzia Treatment, Chad / Holland: Providing free mobile Bilharzia treatment.
  • Tiam Calvin (29), TECO² project, Burkina Faso: Manufacturing roof sheets from recycled plastic waste.
