Nigeria CommunicationsWeek reports that the minister told journalists in Abuja that the new PMG's major responsibility will be to turn around the country’s main postal service into a money spinning agency.
“The name of the candidate who came top during the interview had been forwarded to President Muhammad Buhari for approval. We will make it public as soon as the President approves it,” Shittu said at the sideline of a technology summit in Abuja last week, according to media reports.
The minister stated that popular auditing firm, PriceWaterCooper, conducted the interviews for 21 shortlisted candidates, out of which one was chosen.
Speaking on the sack of the acting PMG, Mr. Enoch Ade Ogun, the minister said Ogun was not sacked but rather retired based on service rule.
