'Those threatening to deal with us have not been born'- Wike tackles PDP

Wike says those threatening to deal with him will never be able to do so because they won’t win the forthcoming election.

Nyesom Wike, Rivers State Governor (TheWhistler)

Wike’s statement is believed to be a response to a statement credited to the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, who also doubles as the Director-General of the Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign organization.

Last month, following reports that the G-5 PDP Governors led by Wike met with Bola Tinubu, the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in London, Tambuwal said that the PDP would respond to the antics of the five PDP governors that broke ranks with the party.

The Sokoto Governor maintained that the opposition party would explore "lawful avenues to bring any of its erring members to book".

However, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media to the Rivers State governor, Kelvin Ebiri, Wike on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, described the threat to deal with him as laughable.

He said those threatening to deal with him will never be able to do so because they won’t win the forthcoming election.

“Most of you have watched on YouTube where they said they will deal with me when they win. You can’t win. You’ve not won, you are threatening to deal with some people. Will God allow you?

“All of them planning and saying they will deal with us, they’ve not been born. I dare them, let them try it,” he said.

He said his ‘political crime’ seems to be his insistence on equity, fairness and justice to be practiced within the party, which according to him they consider too tough a demand to satisfy.
