Nobody can remove me – Deputy Senate President says

The traditional leaders said they are solidly behind him, adding that all plots to remove him from office will fail.

Ekweremadu is currently standing trial with his boss, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki for allegedly forging the Senate standing order.

The Deputy Senate President, who was presented with a symbol of authority (ofor), by 30 traditional rulers in the Enugu West senatorial zone, said  “it is not by power, not by might but by the special grace of God. It is not by our trajectory; so, they cannot do anything.”

Ekweremadu said “I decided to handover N400, 000 to each of the 20 students as scholarships for their education for four years. Ordinarily, it would have been N100, 000 each year but since am not sure if I will continue as Deputy Senate President until tomorrow, we have decided to give it out at once to ensure that nothing hapoens to the education of these young ones.

“Whether they succeed in chasing me out or not, you will continue to go to school. But, I have to assure you that nobody will remove me. It is not by power or by might but by the Grace of God.”

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Oyegun recently revealed that the party is still bitter at the emergence of Ike Ekweremadu as the Deputy Senate President.
