PDP chairman urges members to follow party's constitution in addressing issues

Sheriff also advised the All Progressive Congress (APC) to stop blaming the PDP for the economic crisis, especially the scarcity of petrol in the country.

Ali Modu Sheriff

Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has appealed to members of the party to follow the party’s constitution in pursuing their political ambition and other related matters.

Sheriff gave the advice on Tuesday in Abuja, while inaugurating four special committees, ahead of PDP May 21 national conventions, scheduled to hold in Port Harcourt.

The committees are national convention, reconciliation, zoning and finance.

He said that there was need for members to be united and address party issues internally.

"Every PDP members has the right to demand for what he intends to achieve within the party, but in doing that he or she should ensure that it is done in line with the party’s constitution.

"No party is run on the pages of newspaper,’’ Sheriff said.

He advised the All Progressive Congress (APC) to stop blaming the PDP for the economic crisis, especially the scarcity of petrol in the country.

"The APC leaders choose to blame PDP ‎for lack of petrol in the country even after one year in office.

"I advice APC to stop blaming us; we are now in the opposition working to reposition our party," he said.
