Paedophile who abused 276 children in a year sentenced to life in prison

Notorious Colombian paedophile, Juan Carlos Sanchez Latorre, who abused hundreds of children has been sentenced to life imprisonment.

The suspect sexually abused 276 children within a period of one year

The suspect who is also nicknamed 'Big bad wolf' has been on the run for five years before he was eventually extradited back to Columbia to face trial following his arrest in Venezuela last year. He was charged to court for sexually abusing 276 boys and girls, all 14 years or under.

El heraldo Newspaper reports that Sanchez Latorre abused children ranged from eight to 14 years old. He raped his victims then photographed and recorded the sexual abuse to sell online.

According to prosecutors, the suspect approached his victims online or shopping centres, offering them money and sweets in exchange for sex, before abusing them at his home.

The prosecutors revealed that the period of abuse took place within 12 months between 2007 and 2008.

Sanchez Latorre was sentenced to 60 years in prison by a court sitting in the city of Barranquilla, Columbia.
