Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested Onuorah Caritas Onyinye, a wig vendor for trafficking cocaine.

The 29-year-old was arrested at the Enugu international airport on her arrival from Egypt.

Onyinye was arrested at Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA) in Enugu, on Saturday, July 23, 2022.
Upon her arrival at the Enugu airport on an Ethiopian airline flight from Addis Ababa in Egypt, Onyinye who’s famous for selling wigs, was accosted by NDLEA operatives who found 2.192kilogrammes of cocaine in her possession.
The 29-year-old suspect, according to the NDLEA, concealed the drugs in two women designer’s handbags with false linings.
In a related development, the drug law enforcement agency also nabbed a 52-year-old father of three.
The suspect identified as Okwo Paul Okechukwu, was apprehended upon his arrival from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, for ingesting 76 pellets of cocaine.
Disclosing his arrest, NDLEA Spokesperson Femi Babafemi said the suspect had confessed to trafficking illicit drugs, adding that he was into the business of selling women’s wigs and hair attachment.
Following his arrest, the suspect, according to Babafemi, had excreted all the 76 wraps of the drug he swallowed while under observation at the agency’s Abuja facility.
Reacting to the arrests, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (Retd) commended officers and men of the MMIA, NAIA, AIIA, Kaduna, Sokoto, FCT and Anambra Commands.
Marwa described his men as brave NDLEA detectives, as he showered them with encomiums for the arrests, seizures and their tenacity,
He, however, enjoined the NDLEA operatives to remain committed in pursuing the goal of the Agency, which he noted is to get rid of all parts of illicit substances across the country.
