I got the Starry Black colour of the Reno5 (it also comes in Fantasy Silver) to review. The box contains the Reno5 device itself, accessories including a SIM ejector pin, a charger with type-C cable, pair of earphones, transparent silicon pouch, manual and warranty card. The Reno5 has a dual Nano SIM card slot and a dedicated micro-SD card for more storage space. The device comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, so except you use enough storage space then you don’t need to get an external memory card. 

First impression; the phone was very light to carry and the curved design was top notch with a shiny back panel and black ombre combination. The Starry Black colour draws the attention of people whenever I take it out from my hand bag to receive a call. 

The Reno5 provides a perfect blend of stylish design and functionality with an amazing 6.4 inches AMOLED display screen which is bright enough to use while watching videos or playing games. 

There is a smart button by the left to control the volume and by the right is the power button. The menu display is customizable with different themes, wallpaper and screensaver to select from or download to give you a beautiful interface. 

The Reno5 device is perfect for my day to day planning. From the use of the alarm to start my day to checking my social media apps, to checking my emails, scheduling meetings for the day and so much more. 

OPPO Reno 5 has an amazing feature which is called the Smart Air Control which enables you enjoy contactless navigation within apps. You can scroll up and down the device with simple motion gestures. Reno5 also comes with the Air gestures that allows me answer or mute calls with simple hand gestures. 

My job requires taking a lot of pictures, creating contents for social media, and so much more; which the Reno5 device has made easier to do.

Gaming on this device was a good experience for me, as I played Hollywood story and scrabble without the phone freezing or hanging. If you are looking for the perfect option for a great gaming experience, OPPO Reno5 is your go-to.

OPPO Reno5 has a high-quality camera and features, different modes with more than enough filters to choose from: portrait, pano, night flare portrait, ultra-clear 108 MP image, ultra-night selfie and dark mode. 

With the phone’s 44 MP selfie camera, 64 MP rear camera, 8 MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 2MP macro camera and 2 MP mono camera, I took a couple of photos in the day, at night and a couple of indoor and outdoor shots as well which has made my content creation seamless. Personally, I find the camera quality to be the most important feature of the Reno5. 

The professional camera mode was quite handy for taking pictures of my brand new collection. The AI scene enhancement allows for colour brightness and saturation of special scenes when taking pictures.                                   

Reno5 video mode comes with an AI mixed portrait to create an artistic effect while recording a video and an AI highlight to enhance video quality on both front and rear cameras. AI highlight video improves video brightness, colour and clarity by managing poor-lit scenes both in the day and night.    

I personally appreciate the ease with which I can convert videos to black and white and still highlight only the red, blue or green colours in the video recorded. Monochrome video mode on the Reno5 helps you take better colourful videos. You should try this feature when you purchase the Reno5.                                                                                

The Reno5 also features dual-view video with both front and rear cameras recording what’s happening simultaneously. This was exciting to use for me, I could capture interesting and special moments. 

If you want to edit or modify your pictures, you can use the app “Soloop” on the OPPO Reno5, it provides professional photo and video editing capabilities with different templates to use for free.

Aside from the camera, the battery has proven to be one of the most important features of the Reno5. It comes with a 4310mAh battery and a 50W VOOC flash charge 4.0 which allows you to charge from 0 to 100% in just 45 minutes. You won’t get bothered if you are on the go with the Reno5.

Being a very busy person, I use the Reno5 up to 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday. It has a powerful battery that can last up to 24 hours with my very busy day…. I only charge at night. The device switches automatically to power saving and super power saving mode when the battery is low.
