2 suspected cultists reportedly cut off wrist of ex-member

In Enugu, two suspected cult members, have reportedly cut off the wrist of a former member who left their circle without approval.

The police have arrested two suspected cultists for slicing off the hand of a member who opted out from their gang.

According to Punch News, the suspects are identified as Daniel Eze aka Akpor and Daniel Ikechukwu . They were both arrested late in the evening on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.

In addition to the severed wrist of the victim, Chijioke Chiaha, the duo were also found with two cutlasses and an emblem.

In the report, Chiaha shared that he was about to take a ride to his residence when three men attacked him. They laid an ambush, sliced off part of his hand and left.

The arrest was reportedly confirmed by SP Ebere Amaraizu, a spokesperson for the Enugu police command.

"On his way to the place, he was nabbed by security operatives of the command who had intervened based on distress calls received.

"The victim, who confessed that he used to be a member of a cult group, said he was waiting to board a tricycle to his house when suddenly three persons on a motorcycle approached him from behind and chop of his wrist and drove away," Punch gathered in a statement offered by the police rep on Thursday.

One of the suspects reportedly arrested was on his way to attend a meeting having received a phone call from a person thought to be a cult leader. It was meant to be a peace talk with other cult members at a location known as Eke Obinagu Emene Junction says the report.
