Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The decision was taken on Thursday, October 27, despite criticisms that the move was being made to favour Senate President, Bukola Saraki who is on trial for false asset declaration at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

The Senate is seeking to implement 10 amendments to the Act including a provision that the National Assembly will have the authority to confer powers on the CCT and the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and not the president as previously stated.

It also seeks to force the CCB to give notice to any officers accused of misconduct before charging them for offences.
