6,000 pilgrims transported to Saudi Arabia

About 6,000 intending pilgrims from Sokoto State have been transported to Saudi Arabia for the 2016 holy pilgrimage.

The National Hajj Commission, Sokoto Zone, said on Sunday that it had transported 6,000 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2016 Hajj.

The Sokoto Zonal Coordinator of the Commission, Alhaji Abubakar Kaoje, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto.
Kaoje said the pilgrims were from Sokoto and Zamfara States and were transported in 12 flights.
He explained that the pilgrims were transported by Max Airline from the Sultan Abubakar III International Airport, Sokoto.
According to him, about 3000 of the pilgrims were from Zamfara and where transported in six flights.

Kaoje said also said that 3000 pilgrims were from Sokoto State and were also transported in six flights.
He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the pilgrims during the screening exercise and other departure procedures.
