PDP chieftain denies receiving N100m from Dasuki

George was fingered alongside Dr. Peter Odili in the ongoing arms purchase scandal investigations.

Bode George

Chief Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied the allegations that he received N100m from the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

George was fingered alongside Dr. Peter Odili in the ongoing arms purchase scandal investigations.

The PDP chieftain said “I was a victim of this crass journalistic lynching last week when Sahara Reporters published a completely indecorous falsehood linking me to a phantom N100m allegedly doled out by retired Col. Sambo Dasuki. Without any attempt to balance the story or verify the veracity of its claim, the online medium brazenly pushed out a blatant lie in the name of journalism.

“Again, I hereby restate forcefully that I neither collected nor solicited one farthing from Dasuki or anybody else. Throughout his tenure as National Security Adviser, I never met Dasuki except once or twice when he came to brief members of the national caucus.”

George also took a swipe at the online news site-Sahara Reporters, saying they were trying to implicate him in the arms purchase scandal.

He however stated that he only met Dasuki twice and no money changed hands.

Prominent Nigerians including the former Governor of Sokoto state, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa and Chairman of Africa Independent Television (AIT), Raymond Dokpesi have been arrested in relation to the arms purchase scandal.

Dokpesi has since been remanded in EFCC custody pending the hearing of his bail application on Thursday, December 10, 2015.
