In the midst of controversy over the alleged disappearance of Nigeria’s 2016 budget proposal, a photo has emerged supposedly showing a page of the document being used to sell bean cakes, popularly known as “akara”, and fried yam.

The page reads “Budget 2016” and has on it the seal of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The image was shared via Twitter by Enough is Enough Nigeria with the message:
“In lighter news, it seems the pages of the missing #Budget2016 is being put to good use!”
The authenticity of the picture cannot be verified.
The budget is said to have gone missing from the National Assembly on January 12, 2016 but the reports have been severally denied by the Senate.
