4 things needed to control traffic in Nigeria

Here are four things we need to do in order to control/prevent traffic in Nigeria.

Lagos traffic

Nigeria has one pestering problem found mostly in Lagos, Rivers(Port Harcourt), Oyo(Ibadan).

This irritating thing is traffic.

Not just any kind of traffic, i mean the annoying sluggish kind.

It has come to a place where we need drastic solutions and it is my opinion that the following things can control and eventually solve the traffic issue in Nigeria.

Better Roads- One of the major instigators of traffic is the horrible roads we have in Nigeria. These roads force drivers to move at a snail's pace, thus, traffic is born. Moving forward, we need a road projects to be taken seriously meaning that these roads must be inspected before and after. Also, only the best should be used and no shortcuts should be taken in order for them to last.

Proper Traffic Management- Once the roads are fixed, there should be more traffic lights, signs, and better traffic officers/agencies. All of these will aid traffic and cause gridlocks and 'go-slows' to be a thing of the past.

Public Education- Having traffic signs on the road without the public understanding them is a waste of time. So, in order to handle the traffic situation properly, the public has to taught about traffic signs, lights, wardens and agencies.
