Akwa Ibom chapter appeals to media houses to publicise the EMBER Months Safety Campaign
The Federal Road Safety Corps(Akwa Ibom Chapter) is calling on the media's help concerning the EMBER Months Safety Campaign.
However, FRSC needs the media's co-operation for this to work.
During a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom, the commander of FRSC, Mrs Cecila Alao, made the appeal.
“As we embark on safety campaign and enlightenment, we need the cooperation of the media in the state. We need you to tell the people what we are doing, we sincerely need your collaboration.”
She stressed the importance of this campaign as she pointed out the increase in vehicle movements and the number of travellers on the road during the last four months of the year, tagged EMBER months.
Mrs Alao acknowledged the minimal rate of accidents while promising to keep it that way with this campaign.
Mr Patrick Albert, the chairman of NUJ, responded by appreciating the agency's efforts and promising to co-operate on the EMBER Months Safety Campaign.
This comes after FRSC commenced the use of speed limiting devices today.
