If there's anything Japan is known for, asides their vast technological superiority, it's that they pride themselves as a polite society.

To this end, Hokkaido, a Japanese island which welcomes millions of visitors each year to its hot springs and ski resorts has released a tourist guide that aims to curb some bad behaviour it's noticed from visitors.

Last August, an original version of the guide which was printed only in Chinese was released.

It however received wide spread criticism for being "condescending", and a revised version was published in March in both English and Chinese.

So if you'll be in Japan anytime soon, take note of the rules of etiquette above.
