Beeping horns, chaotic traffic jams, pollution, it's no wonder Lagos is one of the world's most stressful city

The average Lagosian is usually under a lot of stress so much so that one may develop serious mental and physical health problems.

Below are some reasons why we (Lagosians) are 'dying'.

1. Trains are always late

Trains are always late and take forever.

Have you even seen the trains?

2. Tanker drivers own the road

Just look at these photos.

3. Try taking the public transport

You must have a degree in struggling and running to catch a bus, literally catch a bus!

4. Have you been to Balogun market before?

Go to Balogun and die!

5. Or tried applying for a Nigerian passport?

So stressful. Chances are you get your passport after three months, national identity card after four months and Yellow card after a month.

6. What about crossing the Nigerian border in Lagos?

There is no border! What you have is hell fire and its occupants as immigration officers.

7. Reporting a crime is not beans

Chances are you would get arrested for it. Bail is not free by the way.

8. Pollution is an understatement

Noise pollution, air pollution, water pollution, radioactive pollution you name it! Everywhere in Lagos is polluted.

9. Potholes are the order of the day

Lagos and potholes are brothers.

10. Lack of electricity

If you know, you know...

11. Don't bother going to Apapa

Don't even try to awaken the inner adventurer in you by going to Apapa. You will end up frustrated, angry with life and commit suicide.

12. A good meal is overpriced

Buying chicken and chips is actually a luxury so let's not talk about Chinese, Pizza, Burgers and all that.

All in all, we persevere. As chaotic as Lagos is, it prides itself as the centre of excellence and commercial capital of Nigeria, and still attracts visitors in their hundreds daily.

Call it a diamond in the rough.
