The point of a date is to spend time together doing fun activities and not to eat expensive food.

Spending time with your significant other does not have to be expensive, do not let anybody tell you otherwise.

I included the cost of transport when summing up the N5,000 because if you are on a strict budget, you should either be taking the bus, driving a car or going somewhere close by.

1. Go to a park, recreation centre or if you live in Lagos, Lekki Conservation Centre

Most parks are free. In a park, you can take walks, enjoy nature, each other's presence and maybe turn it into a picnic by enjoying some small chops.

If you go to Lekki Conservation Centre, you will be asked to pay between N1,000 to N1,500 to walk the canopy.

2. Visit an art gallery

Art galleries are a perfect place to spend time with your partner and take lovely pictures. Most times, they are free.

3. Stay home and watch movies

This is an underrated activity, and the best part of it is that you do not have to spend so much. Get some snacks to make the movie fun or make a home-cooked meal.

4. Get ice cream or chicken and chips

Ice cream for two people would be below N5,000. If you are going to Coldstone consider getting cones or the smallest cup of ice cream.

Chicken wings and chips are always less than N3,000 everywhere.

5. Go to a local restaurant

Go to an amala joint or a proper Calabar restaurant. You would eat a good meal and be filled to the brim.
