5 best and worst airlines for international flights
When travelling internationally, especially if it’s a long flight, you want to look out for things that make your flight comfortable and enjoyable.
Some crucial factors to consider when choosing an airline include the timeliness of flights, as constant delays can be frustrating. Additionally, the quality of service on board, including the behaviour of flight attendants and the provision of food is important. Of course, safety is paramount, so it is necessary to ensure that the airline operates a modern and well-maintained aircraft. Comfortable seating arrangements are also a key aspect to be considered, you should be able to stretch your legs. In the end, you want to feel like there was value for your money.
AirHelp, a travel company that supports passengers in receiving compensation for delayed flights, conducted a survey to compare dozens of airlines around the globe. The survey assessed the quality of amenities, timeliness of arrivals, as well as how airlines managed compensation requests for flight delays.
We also used the data from Which.com, a company that does surveys on different topics. They reviewed about 8,000 passengers to determine the best and worst airlines.
According to AirHelp, the top five airlines are:
- Qatar Airlines
- United Airlines
- Qantas
- Etihad Airways
- LATAM Airlines
However, Which.com had a different top five airlines:
- Emirates
- Virgin Atlantic
- Etihad Airways
- Singapore Airways
- Delta Airlines
5 worst Airlines according to AirHelp:
- China Eastern Airlines
- Ryanair
- Air Antilles
- Pegasus Airlines
- Spirit
5 worst Airlines according to Which.com:
- Wizz Air
- Ryanair
- Euro wings
- British Airways
- Lufthansa
Even though Egypt Air was not mentioned, many Nigerians have complained about how they were treated badly because of their passports.
On Twitter, a woman expressed her dissatisfaction with being made to spend hours in the cold airport during a layover, while other passengers were given hotel arrangements. Many people online said they had similar experiences and complaints with Egypt Air.
