Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva host dignitaries to a fascinating night of theatre
Theatre goers were left speechless following a presentation of Lufodo’s production “
Veteran actors Joke Silva and Olu Jacobs who co-own the production company hosted Nigerian dignitaries to a night of music, dance and thoughtful dialogue on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Muson Centre, Lagos.
The event was attended by singer Dare Art-Alade, actor Ufuoma Mcdermott, creative director Ifeoma Fafunwa, Pastor Tony Rapu, Seyi Bickersteth and others.
“Heartbeat: The Musical” was written by Tosin Otudeko, and directed by Najite Dede. The play tells a story of struggle and hope and stars actors like Femi Jacobs and Akah Nnani.
Here’s a breakdown of the synopsis:
Heartbeat The Musical, is anchored on Grace House, a well-known shelter for the homeless. It explores the themes of: Love, hate, betrayal, family, identity, politics, homelessness and social justice through the characters that converge in and around Grace House in search of refuge and atonement. It depicts our everyday lives, challenges and victories.
The musical kicked off viewing on November 10, 2016 and continues till December 18, 2016.
