Photographer Trevor Stuurman's backstage work featured in Vogue
South African photographer Trevor Stuurman uses photography to show the other side of fashion week and features AFW work in British Vogue.

He’s worked with every major fashion magazine and the top retail brands in South Africa and his street style portraiture is sought after.
Most recently, he shot behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week with MAC and if you scroll through his Instagram timeline, you’ll see a slightly different side of fashion week. It’s 'stripped down, raw and portrait like in quality, with imagery that goes way beyond just cool make-up and stylish clothes.'
Talking to ESSENCE magazine, Trevor said, “It's important for us to occupy all these spaces that kind of were never for us," he says. "And even now, most of the time, I'd be the only Black photographer backstage, which is like — it's 2017!”

Trevor takes Arise Fashion Week
To document the 3 day extravaganza that was Arise Fashion Week, Trevor, invited by the inimitable Naomi Campbell, came to Nigeria to soak up the very best of what our fashion industry had to offer.
Over the 4 days, Trevor shot with legends including Naomi herself, Ugo Mozie and model, Adonis Bosso, known on social media as Septum Papi.
Trevor's work has now been featured in none other than British Vogue and we bring you the amazing images that tell our unique and important story of a country stepping into its creative power.
