All The Excitement From The #OneMicNaijaShutdown Concert
The organisers of One Mic Naija chose to brand it the 'Shutdown' editon, and they achieved just that, and more!
Charass first took the stage with a performance of his hit song, 'Coco Butter'. Muna was up next, drifting in ike a surreal goddess, and serenading with a medley of songs. She was joined on stage by Lamboginny, whose energy was overwhelming in its sheer force.
It was followed by an open mic session with talented individuals coming o stage to compete. After thrilling the audience, 3 winners emanated and received enticing gifts.
Hosts, Kel and KB, who have been steadily milking the crowd, then called upon he feature headliners of the night: Made Men Music Group (TripleMG).
Afro-Pop diva, Emma Nyra, glided in with sophistication and glam, proceeding to win hearts with 'Kere Shere', 'Elele' and other songs. She was succeeded by Selebobo, whose showmanship and athleticism was a wonder. Then came the uber-talented Tekno, who began his performance with a latino-hemed love ballad, before switching to drumming, and the piano. He switched into his music, and stole the show.
The best was saved for the last, as Iyanya was called amidst a crescendo of happy noises. He began his master-craft with a slow sound, before switching to an unreleased song. Then came his collaborative effort with Baci on the groovy 'Angelina'. Iyanya further went on to perform 'Le Kwa Ukwu', My Way', 'Your Waist' 'Kukere'. He plans to shoot a viral video, and so had a lot of ladies who came on to impress with their dance steps.
One heart-felt moment of the night, was the special birthday song he sang for a guest who came in with her cake. She received a hug, and a taste of the spotlight.
Finally, the TripleMG acts all came together to render 'Say Yeah', their group anthem, which has a catchy Hip hop feel to it. And then they bowed and left to thunderous applause, and shouts.
