Please, Dino Melaye should remain in the Senate

Senator Dino Melaye is Nigeria's most entertaining senator.

Members of his constituency in Kogi state last week announced their plans to recall the honourable legislator. The movement is gaining momentum.

Dino Melaye has denounced this attempt to recall him as a move by the Governor of Kogi state to get rid of him. Whatever the case may be, it would actually be wrong to recall Dino Melaye.

Think about it for a second. This gentleman from Kogi state is perhaps the most known senator of this republic. He is always in the news. He is active. He always has something to say about everything.

How many of his colleagues do you know? Most of them sleep during sessions and when they are awake don't say anything worthy of our attention. All they are interested in are in their over bloated allowances and salary.

Dino Melaye, on the other hand, is a man of the people He gives the people what they want- sheer entertainment. Nigerians do not want to hear about one boring bill or a dull reading at the House. They want entertainment. They want comedy and Dino Melaye is the content producer.

The senator from Kogi is a man who would release a short freestyle video in his office when questioned about his university degree. This is a man that threw a sexist remark at Senator , then paraded himself in front of her husband's house. Oh, what a proud peacock he is.

You have to understand that Dino Melaye is giving Nigerians what they want- entertainment. Nigerians don't care about politics. As long as you can make Nigerians laugh you are a legend. If you like steal or kill, you can get away with anything as long as you make us laugh.

Dino Melaye is Nigeria's most productive senator. He gives us meme-ready moments. He does more than his colleagues. He might not be sponsoring great bills but he is keeping us entertained.
