Farmer butchered by hoodlums in Agbor [Graphic Photo]

A farmer has reportedly been brutally murdered by hoodlums on his way to to the farm.

Two men have reportedly murdered a three month old baby

Daily Post reports that the residents of the community have been forced to begin avoiding their farms since the attack occurred.

According to the reports, the deceased identified as Mr Monday Mordi, was set to appear in court over a case between himself and his former wife on Tuesday, October 18 at Owa-Oyibu, before his was murdered and his motorcycle stolen.

The suspects reportedly left the remains of the deceased along with a torchlight and a sack bag.

There are speculations that the suspects waylaid the deceased prior to the attack.

The police from Owa-Oyibu Divisional Police Headquarters, on Friday, October 21, arrested three persons in relation to the murder.

Amongst those arrested was the son of the deceased who is alleged to have masterminded the killing.

In a telephone conversation with Daily Post, the National President Ute-Okpu Youth Association, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, condemned the senseless killing of the man, who has been described as a peace-loving and easy-going fellow.

Ikeogwu wondered why the harmless farmer was murder by the suspects who according to sources, were three in number.

He added that the murder has raised serious cause for concern among the indigenes of the community, claiming that cultism and other criminal vices have increased in the once peaceful kingdom.

Ikeogwu called on the relevant security agencies to launch a full investigation into the case, stressing that, "the killing is too much in our land. We cannot go to farm again. The government should help us bring the culprits out.”

The Divisional Police Officer of Owa-Oyibu Divisional Headquarters, CSP Austin Chukwuma, has been unreachable but a police source confirmed the incident.

The source also claimed that an arrest has been made even as the investigations continue.
