Inspector Taiwo Adegoke, a prosecutor on the case revealed that the accused committed the crime around February 2012.

According to him, Murtala deceitfully obtained the sum of N1.6 million from Pastor Alade Samuel in the guise of selling a land to him.

The offence contravened sections 419 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code cap 34 vol.11 laws of Osun, 2003.

Following the not guilty plea made by the accused, his counsel, Oketade Olufunke, appealed to the court to grant him bail.

The court magistrate, Halimatu Bashiru, granted the appeal by granting the accused bail in the sum of N500,000.

She adjourned the case till December 21, 2016 for more hearing.
