Gay pastor slams police for arresting homosexuals at wedding

Nigeria's foremost gay and activist is not happy with the arrest of guests at a same-sex wedding in Kaduna by security officials.

In a series of tweets, Rev. Macaulay who runs a gay church called House of Rainbow in his base in London, said the security agencies in Nigeria are leaving the important work of providing security for the nation, going after corrupt politicians and combating insurgency and pursuing homosexuals going about their businesses.

Macaulay, the son of a Baptist reverend also sounded a note of warning to other gays living in Nigeria that they are an endangered as even their friends and brothers are capable of selling them out to the police to be prosecuted.

Since coming out as gay years ago and divorcing from his wife, Rev. Macaulay has been having a running battle with Nigerian officials over the stigmatization of gays in the country and was in the forefront of condemning the regime of President Goodluck Jonathan for enacting the law prohibiting same-sex marriage in the country.
