The woman identified as Tracy Fleischer, was reportedly arrested and now faces charges of aggravated assault following the alleged incident which had taken place at the couple's home in Augusta, Maine, last Friday, March 4.
The 34-year-old had reportedly called for help, admitting to stabbing her husband in the torso before attacking him a second time, stabbing him in the leg while she drove him to a hospital, and getting rid of the murder weapon on her way there.
Portland Press Herald reports that the couple's daughter had reportedly informed the police that her father had been worried about something Fleischer had seen on his instagram account.
The suspect had allegedly bought a knife in preparation as she had no access to them at her home due to a past of violence against her husband before now.
Officer Brett Lowell, writing in an affidavit said:
"The daughter stated that (her father) often hides all of the kitchen knives due to the past violence between Tracy against (him)."
Fleischer was reportedly arrested on Friday and now faces charges of aggravated assault with a 30year jail term.
