Why do some people sleep with corpses?

Kwadoo admitted his strange fetish during an interview at a local radio station. Kwadoo stated he does enjoy sex with the dead bodies just as much as he enjoys with living women.

Kwadoo has been sleeping with female dead bodies for 10 years. He said he does not ejaculate in the corpses so they won't get pregnant.

"Yes, I have sex with them but all I have to do is to ensure that I don’t ejaculate in the dead body because it could get pregnant in the afterworld.

"I may be haunted by the spirits if they get pregnant. It is same as normal sex and I enjoy it very much" he said.

Necrophilia is the act of having sex with dead corpses or being sexually attracted to corpses.

What would make a man or woman sleep with a corpse? Also known as thanatophilia, it is a psychiatric condition according to the American Psychiatric Association. In layman terms, whoever sleeps with a dead body is a mad person.

What would make someone decide to sleep with a dead person if not madness? Psychologists say people who are involved in necrophilia do it for various reasons.

According to Dr Mark Griffiths, a Chartered Psychologist and Professor of Gambling Studies at the Nottingham Trent University, "two-thirds of the necrophiliacs reported the desire to possess an unresisting and unrejecting partner (68%)."

"Other lesser motivations reported included wanting to be reunited with their dead romantic partner (21%), being sexually attracted to corpses (15%), comfort or overcoming feelings of isolation (15%), and/or seeking self-esteem by expressing power over a homicide victim (12%)" wrote Griffiths on his blog in 2010.

In the Nigerian context, people who sleep with corpses are mad, have spiritual problems or are involved in money rituals.

There are plenty macabre tales of rich men who sleep with corpses in order to replenish their wealth from the underworld. It's one of the bizarre spiritual money ritual acts we have heard about for years. No one has ever been caught in the act of sleeping with corpses because of money.

Those who have been caught though are often seen as people cursed by evil people or family relatives.
