Two men nabbed while attempting to buy Dollars with fake Naira

Two men have been handed over to police in Abuja for attempts to buy Dollars with fake Naira notes.

The suspects were caught at a Bureau De Change located in Zone 4, Wuse area of the state, Daily Post reports.

It was gathered that the suspects mixed the counterfeit notes with original notes summing up to N2m.

Daily Post reports that the suspects showed up at the Bureau De Change, asking to change the Naira for Dollars.

The pair met their waterloo when the operator noticed that only N50,000 of the total amount were original Naira notes.

The Bureau De Change operator identified simply as Sani raised the alarm after which the two suspects were apprehended and handed over to the Wuse Police Division.

Speaking with a Daily Post correspondent, a police officer identified as Uchendu Michael said, “In this recession? They would not escape. They are already in our custody, the matter would be investigated and the suspects would be made to face the law.”

The culprits are to be arraigned in court at the completion of the investigation into the matter.
