Teacher beheads proprietor's daughter over unpaid salaries (Very Graphic Photos)

A school teacher is on the run after he beheaded the 10-year-old daughter of his proprietor over salaries.

A bloody knife

It was gathered that Umoren, a teacher with Favour Nursery and Primary School, a private school in Esugbo, Itamerin near Ijebu-Ife, in the state, was owed a two-months back log of salaries for the months of January and February, totalling N16,000, at N8,000 per month, by the proprietor, Pastor Joseph Olitoye.

After all efforts to collect the money met a brick wall, he took his frustrations out on the innocent girl whose name was given as Precious Adedeji, a pupil in the same school, by brutally butchering her.

It was learnt that Umoren, who doubled as a treasurer in Pastor Olitoye's church, had abducted the girl a day to her birthday, alongside her friend identified as Patricia, dragged them into a bush where he cut off her head and her right hand.

The other girl managed to escape and ran to Pastor Olitoye's office to inform him of the cruel act. By the time Pastor Olitoye could mobilise people to rescue the girl, the deed had already been done, with Umoren leaving two short notes at the scene of the crime, claiming that he killed the girl because of the failure of the proprietor to pay him his two months’ salaries.

The bereaved Pastor Olitoye, while narrating the sordid act to newsmen, agreed that he actually owed the suspect but that he had pleaded with Umoren to exercise patience till the end of the week to enable him to pay the salaries owed him.

Olitoye also disclosed he had planned to terminate the appointment of Umoren after paying him the owed salaries over alleged disobedience, which made him to issue him a query before he committed the crime.

He also alleged that Umoren, who until the incident, was the treasurer of his church, had allegedly stolen over N250,000 from the church’s fund.
