Punch reports that the couple had allegedly robbed and murdered one Bukola Taiwo of Ikeketu area of Ile-Ife.

The prosecutor had earlier told the court that while Fatai strangulated the Taiwo, his wife smashed the victim’s head with a sledgehammer after which the couple removed the deceased’s purse and stole N48,780.00.

The Principal State Counsel, Faremi Moses, brought four witnesses to court and presented a sledgehammer which the couple allegedly used in murdering the victim and other exhibits before the court to prove the case.

While delivering judgment, Justice Adedotun Onibokun, found the husband and wife guilty of the charges preferred against them.
