Pastor arrested for stealing colleagues car in Abuja

A man who claims to be a pastor has been caught after he stole his friend's car and took it from Abuja to Enugu to sell.

Pastor caught stealing

The thieving pastor identified as only as Pastor Destiny, was nabbed in Nsukka, Enugu State, where he had taken the car to look for buyers.

According to Daily Trust, Pastor Destiny, a frequent visitor to the victim’s residence, took away the car keys without his friend’s knowledge and sneaked into the compound where he stole the car in the night.

The victim told the police that he wanted to use the car in the morning but could not find the keys, so he took the spare key and went to where he parked the car only to realise that it was not where he parked it in the night and he went to the police station to make a report.

The police then spread its net and trailed the car through its tracker to Enugu where the car was found and the suspect was arrested.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Kubwa Division, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, confirmed the arrest of the pastor, saying the case would be transferred to the State CID after due interrogation.

“The suspect was apprehended in a prayer house in his home town in Enugu State and brought to the station with the vehicle,” Sabo said.
