Frustrated wife dies after eating food she poisoned for husband

A frustrated housewife trying to win back her husband's love with the use of love potion mistakenly killed herself after eating from the food she prepared for him.

The death of a housewife in Atumaga community in Delta State, has thrown her household into great confusion after it was discovered that she died after eating from the soup she had poisoned for her cheating husband.

According to Leadership Newspaper, the woman identified as Egwoli, was frustrated that her husband was busy sleeping with other women and neglecting her for over a year, decided to consult a native doctor who prepared the love charm for her with strict instructions to add the substance to her husband's food to gain back his affection.

But after preparing the egusi (melon) soup but unfortunately, her errant husband was nowhere to be found.

Not knowing the charm had deadly effects, she ate from the soup and went to bed and was found dead the following morning.

The husband who had earlier complained that he stopped making love to his wife because of the offensive body odour that oozes out of her body, narrated the circumstances that led to the tragic end:

"My wife had threatened to make me impotent when I stopped making love to her for obvious reasons and I found some fetish items in her room, including the egusi soup she ate before her death."

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Celestina Kalu, has confirmed the incidence and said that the police was investigating the circumstances that led to the woman’s death.
