Molten is bringing excitement into Nigeria’s Hip Hop scene with captivating new EP, ‘The Outset’

Rising rap sensation Molt'N has released a six-track EP titled 'The Outset' with which she's set to make her mark in the Nigerian Hip Hop scene. The EP has enjoyed a warm reception since its release as it has garnered over 400K streams across all streaming platforms.

Molt'N's journey into rap started at a young age when she was exposed to different genres of music. She became fascinated by Hip Hop as it allowed her to express her emotions in an unfiltered form.

For her, writing rap lyrics allowed her to stay motivated and inspired, while also giving her a way to address the diverse issues that pervade society. Her music and style are inspired by several Hip Hop legends such as BoneThugs n Harmony, Redman, Missy Elliot, Lil Kim, and Kanye West whose artistry she admires.

An element that distinguishes Molt'N music is her elastic talent which allows her to experiment across different beats and sounds. This has helped her to create a unique sound that borrows from traditional and contemporary Hip Hop elements while also gleaning from other genres and with which she is pushing the boundaries of Hip Hop in Nigeria.

On the subject matter of the state of rap in Nigeria, Molt'N believes that while people are entitled to their opinions, Hip Hop is not dead in Nigeria as Wizkid stated.

“I’d like to first state that I am a Wizkid fan and while one may opine that we’ve had a decline in the number of rappers who are prominent in the industry, for several reasons, the opinion that rap is boring and dead is simply a subjective one.

Rap is one of the purest forms of verbal artistic expressions and has such a variety of sub-genres that are very popular and widely enjoyed, so to say the genre is dead is largely inaccurate.”

Molt'N's 'The Outset' EP was produced by DonL37, and distributed and promoted by Prime88 Concepts. With the support of her team, Molt'N aims to take her music to a wider audience while also adding more complexities to Nigeria's Hip Hop scene.
