Felabration 2018: Qdot, Koker and Klever Jay open festivities at this year's edition

From Koker to Klever Jay, Qdot and more, the opening day of Felabration 2018 delivered some energetic performances to kickstart the festival.

The annual event held in memory of the late Abami Eda, Fela Anikulapo Kuti hosted by his dynasty started on Monday, October 15 at its traditional home of the Afrikan Shrine and played host to the likes of Koker, Qdot, Project Fame alumni Olawale and Klever Jay.

The night began with the Positive Force opening performances as they rendered songs like 'Overtake Don Overtake.'

There was also an Afrobics competition which was won by young dancer Onome Utogo as the night witnessed a large turnout of fans, both regular visitors and first timers on the first day of the festival.

Outside a number of upcoming artistes who were provided with a platform to express their art, big names like Koker, Qdot, veteran Klever Jay and Olawale, who has been in the news recently for picking up cab driving all graced the Felabration 2018 stage.

Over the years, Felabration has been widely celebrated by fans both within and outside the country and has attracted a wide pool of superstars from all over the world like Femi Kuti, Hugh Masakela, Wizkid, Lucky Dube, Awilo Longomba, Baba Maal, Les Nubians, King Sunny Ade, Burna Boy, Lagbaja, Asa and 2baba, to name a few.

This years edition also coincides with the 80th post-humous celebration of the life of Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
