This committee is responsible for shaping the Academy’s global engagement strategy, focusing on key areas such as the membership process, governance, and impact programs.
In this one-year appointment, which runs until June 30, 2025, Odugbemi will collaborate with a diverse group of international professionals to help guide the Academy's mission of global inclusivity and influence in the film industry. The committee will meet virtually three times over the next year, in mid-October, February, and April, to accommodate members across various time zones.
“I am honored to join the Academy’s International Engagement Committee and excited to contribute to its efforts in promoting global representation and strengthening international connections within the film industry,” said Odugbemi. “I look forward to working alongside fellow committee members to drive meaningful engagement worldwide.”
Committee members are required to participate in unconscious bias training and must adhere to the Academy’s Standards of Conduct. All committee discussions are kept confidential, ensuring a secure and constructive environment for deliberation.
This appointment highlights Odugbemi’s growing influence in the global film community and reinforces the Academy’s commitment to fostering diverse voices and perspectives within the industry.
