The premiere held on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at the Imax Cinemas, Lekki, Lagos, and was attended by celebrities such as Kate Henshaw, Dakore Akande, Jemima Osunde, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Tope Oshin, Naz Onuzo, Meg Otanwa, Niyi Akinmolayan, Etim Effiong, Osas Ajibade, Chigurl among others.
Set in Lagos, Nigeria, "New Money" follows the life of Toun Odumosu, a young aspiring designer whose life changes following the death of an absentee tycoon father, who left her to fill his shoes.
The drama follows her coming to terms with her newfound riches as she tries to successfully merge her newfound wealth with her old life.
"New Money" also features Wale Ojo, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Osas Ighodaro, Falz, Wofaifada, Daniel Etim Effiong, Adeolu Adefarasin, Kalu Ikeagwu, Femi Branch, Bikiya Graham-Douglas among others.
During an interview with Pulse Nigeria, Kate Henshaw and Jemima Osunde, who play mother and daughter in the film, shared how they got involved with the project, their favourite scenes, challenges during shoot, and why viewers should go it in the cinemas.
"First of all, you must have laughed away all your worries. There are so many funny scenes in "New Money." It's also a feel good movie, so if you have had a long day, once you watch "New Money," I can assure you that even if it is slightly, you will feel relieved," Osunde told Pulse.
"New Money" marks the third collaboration between Inkbot and Filmone (My Wife and I, The Wedding Party,"The Wedding Party 2.
Directed by Tope Oshin and written byNaz Onuzo, "New Money" will premiere in cinemas on March 23, 2018.
