Nia Long joins season 3 of series

"The Best Man Holiday" actress, Nia Long, has landed a recurring role on Fox hit series "Empire."

Long will play Giuliana, a queenpin who runs a club in Las Vegas and makes brash moves in the gangster underworld of New York to secure a deal with Empire. Sleek, sexy, and cold-blooded, she rubs elbows with Lucious and goes toe-to-toe with Cookie even as she reckons with her own mysterious past.

The actress joins recurring season additions including Rumer Willis, Mariah Carey, Taye Diggs, Birdman and French Montana.

"Empire" centers around a hip hop music and entertainment company, Empire Entertainment, and the drama among the members of the founders' family as they fight for control of the company.

Co-created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, the hip-hop drama returned for a third season on September 21, 2016.
