Singer to host MTV's Lip Sync Battle Africa

This is a new type of development for the Koko Master, who has made a good representation of his career having acquired international prominence with features from international musicians such as Akon and Kanye West

 

Veteran rapper, LL Cool J has announced through MTV's social media channels that Nigerian singer, Dbanj will be hosting the entertainment brand's 'Lip Sync Battle Africa' in company with South African actress, Pearl Thusi.

The pair are following in the footsteps of US hosts LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen and UK hosts Mel B and Professor Green.

The show is to be recorded in Johannesburg, South Africa, taking the form of its UK and US version with vocal showdowns between top celebrities and entertainment figures.

Dbanj, also known as the Koko Master seems to be anticipating his participation in the show which is to begin broadcast in April, 2016.

He said, "For me this is what I do for a living. This time I'll be chilling and enjoying myself in my corner,"

"Watching my colleagues, these are very interesting people, seeing celebrities do what they have never done. It's all about the hosts, contestants, audience and viewers at home. In this current economy we need that kind of fun, to put a smile on your face."

Thusi, who has featured in top movies such as Tremors 5: Bloodlines and Zone 14 said, "I think with the kind of experience that I have had with all the other shows I've done on radio and TV, I really can handle this. I really think I'm fun, smart, sassy and spicy. And the show needs all those stuff."
