'Star Wars' actor joins 'Wonder Woman' as Steve Trevor

Chris Pine has been confirmed as Steve Trevor in Warner Bros. Pictures 'Wonder Woman'.

Popular for his Captain James T. Kirk character in the rebooted Star Trek franchise,undefinedwill star in Warner Bros. Pictures’ Wonder Woman.

It has been confirmed that Pines will star alongside Gal Gadot in the upcoming film as Steve Trevor - the romantic interest of wonder woman.

In the original version of Wonder Woman's origin story, Steve Trevor was an intelligence officer in the United States Army during World War II whose plane crashed on Paradise Island, the isolated homeland of the Amazons.

Trevor first appeared in All Star Comics #8 (December 1941/January 1942).

Directed by Patty Jenkins, the superhero film is slated for a 2017 release.
