Report claims pop star's manager allegedly assaulted Tekno

A fight broke out between representatives of Davido and Wizkid following an assault on Tekno by Sunday Are.

THE NET reports that the cause of the fracas had to do with Tekno and Wizkid's manager Sunday Are. The altercation which occurred at the backstage of the One Africa Music Fest concert in Dubai held on Thursday, November 16, 2017.

After Tekno finished his performance, he saw Wizkid at the backstage with members of his entourage and his manager Sunday Are. Tekno reportedly went over to greet Wizkid and his crew. The 'Pana' singer reportedly stretched his hand towards Are and veteran talent manager punched him for showing disrespect.

"Sunday Are was annoyed that a small boy like Tekno can be so rude to shake hands with him instead of bowing down or prostrating" an anonymous source told The NET. "He didn’t even calm down, he just punched Tekno and pushed him."

"Immediately the backstage area erupted as people around Wizkid gathered round Tekno and threatened to beat him up further. By this time Davido was on stage and the fracas spilled over outside. As soon as Davido was done and he heard what happened, he rushed towards the scene with his people."

A viral video showed a scene of unrest that saw Wizkid making an attempt to interfere in what was reported to be a clash between his camp and Davido's who was sympathetic to Tekno.

Davido later took to Twitter to express his support for Tekno who he assured of protection based on the following comment.

On Friday, November 17, 2017, it was reported that Davido and Wizkid's camps had clashed in Dubai though no one knew the cause of the ugly incident.

The incident occurred barely a week after Davido and Wiz scored awards at the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards and the 2017 All Africa Music Awards, held at The SSE Arena in Wembley, London, United Kingdom and Lagos, Nigeria, respectively.

'FIA' singer, Davido could not contain his excitement after learning that he had won an honour in the categories of Best Worldwide Act and Best African Act, muscling out contemporaries, Babes Wodumo, C4 Pedro, Nasty C, Nyashinski and Wizkid in the latter.

His performance so far in the year 2017, has seen him more energized with better achievement as opposed to the previous year.
