Timi Dakolo hosts 12 lucky fans to intimate event for Valentine's Day

The intimate event tagged "In The Yard With The Chorus Leader" was held at Timi Dakolo’s private music studio ‘The Yard’.

A first of its kind, the highlight of the event included a live performance of Timi Dakolo with his band, random discussions about life, love, and heartbreak, and inspiration behind the making of some of his hit singles such as 'Wish Me Well', 'Heaven Please', 'Iyawo Mi', 'Obim', and some yet to be released singles.

The 12 lucky 'Yard People' (Timi's fans) that attended the event were randomly selected from a list of fans that subscribed and registered on Timi Dakolo's website-www.timidakolo.com. There was also live online viewing made available for fans on Youtube and Instagram.

The live streaming platform of the evening had fans from all over the world glued to watch Timi Dakolo crack jokes and perform some of their favourite songs off his albums.  

The Yard People got to experience and watch live, the exceptional art and talent of their Yard Daddy and Chorus Leader,Timi Dakolo. He also debuted two unreleased songs, giving his fans an exclusive sound of what is to come.

Moreover, he stated that after winning Nigerian Idols in 2007 “I was completely blank on how to go about my music career, so  I just had to read books and study. I keep telling people that education is important, you have to study before doing anything”.

In essence, he revealed that studying and the need to provide a good life for his mother, after his grandma died gave him clarity on his first single ‘Heaven Please’. After which, blew up and gave him his place on the centre stage of the Nigerian Music Industry. 

At the end of the evening; some of the Yard people expressed their deepest love and gratitude to Timi Dakolo for the opportunity to have a one on one experience with him. As one fan wrote on intastory, “I spent the day with Timi Dakolo at his studio and listened to him sing live.It was amazing. Thanks to Timi and his team”.

It is no doubt that the occasion was an intimate thrilling experience for ‘the Yard People’ both on ground at the event and online. Timi Dakolo sure knows how to live by his name ‘The chorus leader of Love’.
