Singer and family celebrate Mardi Gras in New Orleans

The family were spotted sitting on a balcony overlooking the street parade, with Solange, rocking a feathered mask and colourful beads which are a major part of the celebrations.

American singer, Solange Knowles, as well as her director husband, Alan Ferguson and son from first marriage, Daniel Julez Smith Jr. were spotted in New Orleans as the joined the Mardi Gras celebrations yesterday afternoon.

The annual carnival celebration which holds in New Orleans is usually characterised by street parades, balls and parties.

The carnival usually lasts for 2 weeks and people from all over the states, celebrities and citizens alike, go out of their way to show up for it.

Solange who is the younger sister to pop star, Beyonce and daughter to Tina and Matthew Knowles had married Ferguson in 2014 in a stunning wedding after her divorce from previous husband of 4 years, Daniel Smith in 2007.
