Ganduje made the promise on Saturday, December 14, 2019, in Kano during the Best Of Nollywood awards ceremony, which held inside Coronation Hall, government house, Kano.

The organisers of the movie awards ceremony had presented a lifetime achievement award to the ailing Sadiq Daba when Ganduje joined the team to present the award and made the donation.

During the movie ceremony, Daba revealed that he’s an indigene of Kano state but who had lived the better part of his life in Jos, Plateau state.

This donation is coming weeks after Dr. Joe Okei Odumakin made a call to Nigerians to help donate to keep the veteran actor and broadcaster alive.

About two years ago, Daba was diagnosed with Leukemia and Prostate Cancer. In July 2019, Femi Otedola announced his decision to take responsibility for Daba’s medical fees.

In October 2019, Odumakin called on Nigerians to help Daba regain his full health as his health took a nosedive. This necessitates an Intensive Care as he is diagnosed with Chronic Pulmonary Disease.

Daba was aided by some of the celebrities at the BON Awards to receive his lifetime achievement awards before he was wheeled out in a wheelchair before the end of the awards ceremony.

Sadiq Daba, an ace broadcaster and veteran actor, made waves in the 1980s on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). He has featured in several TV series and was the star of Kunle Afolayan’s film, ‘October 1.’
