Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as KWAM 1 has received favour from the most revered king in the Yoruba kingdom, as the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi showered prayers on his children at the coronation of the new Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji l held on Friday, March 4, 2016.

A picture of this showed his children kneeling before the monarch as he spoke words of blessing unto them, while holding on to his sacred staff.

Wasiu was also seen having a close interaction with the king, an evidence that he is considered a noble personality among his kinsmen and career wise.

He was a member of Chief Doctor Sikiru Ayinde Barrister's band, the Supreme Fuji Commanders, from 1978 until 1984 when he later became an independent musician which had him dubbed as 'King of Fuji', after his mentor.

Fuji music acquired a new feel during his reign as he incorporated western aesthetics into it, making the genre appear a bit modern.

As a musician, he developed a personality as a satirical figure, openly displaying his resentment for the government of President Olusegun Obasanjo who was in a private battle with then governor of Lagos, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Wasiu has attacked the former president in a few of his songs.
