On Friday, June 8, 2022, celebrated comedian, thespian and host, Bovi announced his upcoming show, Naughty By Nature, at a press conference, which was held at Eko Hotels and Suites. The show will take place on July 17, 2022.

For Bovi, this was more than another comedic showcase, it is stress relief for a country that’s currently going through a crisis. It’s a momentary distraction for his attendees, who are currently going through the hassles of being Nigerian.

“I want people to get value for their money. It is not just about entertainment and scripts,” he enthused. “It is also a form of therapy. I feel comedians should be designated as doctors.”

He also noted that, “I don’t just want to make people laugh, I want to make people happy.”

He is right. Several researchers have noted the importance of unwinding through music, movies or comedy shows. The event was sponsored by Pulse Nigeria, MTVBase, Minimie and more.

Dapo Akinwale, from one of the sponsors, noted that his company, Tulcan Energy, decided to support the “Bovi brand,” after observing it from the sidelines over the years.

At the start of the presser, the moderator noted that the show, titled after the legendary Rap group of the same name, is destined to be something better than we have ever seen before.

However, Bovi notes that 'Naughty By Nature' was inspired by two things: people calling him naughty over the years, and his tendency to say a lot of "naughty" things at the July 17 show. He jokes that his style are "PG 18."
